WHISTLING SHOP

The Whistling Shop is the sort of place that feels like a secret. I first went there soon after they just opened and was most intrigued by the chemistry lab in the middle of the space. I remember being impressed by the concept of 'removed cream' in their Black Cat's martini. The cocktail looked as clear as water but tasted so richly of cream. I am intrigued by things that question the way your mind presupposes.

I hung out with a friend who recently arrived in London and brought her there. Now that they've won a 2011 Best New Bar award, it was packed to the brim and the noise levels were too high for conversing at comfortably audible levels. Nonetheless the cocktails were still yummy.
